Thirupathi Saamy is a press writer and he is a fierce one at that. He can't tolerate social injustice and he uses his magazine reporter job to create awareness among the public by shedding light on the cruelty that the society faces. In his life, he has the best days with his lover and it turns out to be the best phase of his life.

One of the rogues who were affected by Thiruapthi Saamy’s brutal exposure to public kidnaps his lover in front of the magazine reporter. Thirupathi Saamy faces a lot of struggle just to identify the kidnapper.

The story is about how Thirupathi Saamy identified the kidnapper and how he saves his lover from a worse fate.

Sri Kanth is the youthful and fierce press reporter. Sonia Agarwal is his lover.

Vijayan who we remember fondly from Udhiri Pookal plays the role of Sri Kanth’s father. We had really hoped that Vijayan will deliver a commendable performance, but he is just an ordinary father who appears in a few frames.

Mani Vannan is the owner of the magazine and he befriends his neighbor Ilavarasu. Both the actors act so very naturally and Mano Bala is there for the comedy quotient in the movie.

Thirupathy Samy works with a pretty popular magazine, but we just don't understand why he goes all alone to all those places that the kidnapper wants him to go. There is something missing about the reality in the movie. However, it is still an entertaining movie and it fulfils all our basic demands for entertainment.

Vidya Sagar has composed some awesome melodies for this movie. Arivu Madhi’s ‘Viliyum Viliyum’ song is definitely to linger our eyes for a few more years and the picturisation is also quite good.

A magazine reporter has to face some advantages and disadvantages when he falls in love and this movie sheds light on the life of a reporter. Karu. Palaniyappan has dedicated this movie to all people involved in bringing out a magazine and he has definitely done justice to the cause.

Chadurangam was ready for release a few years back, but the movie faced a really delayed release to the audience.

In the movie, the magazine office is designed in such a way that it reflects almost all aspects of the Anandha Vikatan office. Thisaigal is the name of the magazine run by Maalan.
