Vamsam – Review

Not a mere story of a family.. but a tale with a flavor of generations and ages, and a community flavor too…

A grand mela celebration of the ancient temple in town and all the community heads are respected a each day… but today it is Arivunidhi’s turn and Jayaprakash is seen in complete anger waiting to kill him… But why? What could be the ploy behind?

Immediately, the screens rewind a year ago where Arivunidhi is the son of Kishore a big goonda in town. Despising the activities of his father, his mom resides away from the town and brings up Arivunidhi as a leading example in the town and nearby villages.. Side tracking the story would be the intimate relationship that develops between the hero and Sunaina.

Despite knowing the fact that Sunaina is a child without a mom, Jayaprakash brutally murders her father as well. Infuriated heroine, insults the villain and finally it’s the hero’s turn to save her.. the flash back chips off and now, who would it be the villain or the hero is the final end of the story. Focussing towards all the martial arts of Tamil Nadu, Pandiarajan, the director has made a fair decent attempt in portraying all the skills in the mela.

Despite his debut, Arivunidhi has performed pretty good in all the scenes. Simple, fast and quick stunts along with romance and non stop performance in dialogs are appreciable. The cow that plays cupid, the characters struggling to obtain a signal on their cell-phones and many such scenes are laudable. Jayaprakash is amazing and can be recommended for the best villain award for the year.. 2010.

Thajnoor’s awful music is something to regret about and Mageshmuthuswamy’s cinematography is appreciable.

Behind the screens of Vamsam

Debut hero Arivunidhi is the grandson of Mr.Karunanidhi and the son of Mu.Ka. Tamilarasu.

Born and brought up in a city, Arivunidhi comments that it was a tough job indeed working as a village hero. So also was the same with Sunaina

. Lost memories and culture of the true Tamilian soil is once again portrayed with new faces to the rescue.

There were elephants in the movie as well.. and security was enhanced to ensure that the animals don’t run insane during the shoot.

The music release of Vamsam brought in appreciation for Arivunidhi saying he would emerge as one of the best stars of Kollywood.
