Debutant Music Director, N.R.Raghunandan has done an excellent fusion of folk music with the western music for the film ‘Then merku Paruvakkatru’. Earlier,he has worked as an assistant for sensational music director G.V.Prakash.Though his name and initials has the similarity of A.R.Rahman’s, N.R.Raghunandan has tried for his own originality in music.

Two different voices of Vijay Praksh and Unni menon can be heard in the song ‘Kalli kattil pirantha thaiye’ .The Lyrics of the song painfully explain the unconditional love, affection and caring of a rural mother. Listening to the song word by word ,will make you nostalgic .This song could very well become the collar tune of people who are so affectionate with their mother. Vijay prakash had sung three songs in the film. The song ‘atee kalichi‘, he sang with Shreya Ghosal will become a favourite song of many people.

‘Chinnan chinnan kattula’ song sung by Shankar Mahadevan, will certainly impress those hearts which are in love.

‘Kaalli kalli chedi ‘ song sung by Sweta mohan resembles a lot of earlier hit song ‘olli kuchi odambu karri’ .What’s happening guys? Lyrics writer Vairamuthu has used the words kalli kadu and karattu medu widely in the songs. He has peppered the words , he like the most in his life and create a new experience for the listeners.

‘Thai pall mattum thoosu illai’ ,’kancha karuvadu then ozhugum’ , ‘varatti thattiya kaiyai vache vayasa kandu pidippen’ , ‘nottan kaiyile thotta kooda yettam naal mannakum’ –These are just a few to mention how Vairamuthu has ruled and mastered with the rural sayings and words in the film. People could have never heard such words in their life before.

Whenever Vaira muthu gets some opportunity he has used the words ’kallan nattu serukki than ,edi kallichi ‘ , Though the direct meaning of these words can be understood by all, it will not give you any delicate feeling.

A.R.Raghunandan has utilized the opportunity of working with celebrated poet of the industry in the debutant film with maximum effect.
