Poet Mahudeswaran has written songs for Raagav’s music for the movie Nanjupuram.
The song ‘Anbe Unnai’ is a fast beat song that makes us want to dance. At various places, we could remember the beats and tune of ‘Kadhal Konden’ songs, but Raagav has shown promising skills as a budding music director through his composition for the movie.
Typical village atmosphere has been detailed in ‘Ennattuma Vaanathula Natchathira’ song. The lyrics are so beautiful and several unused words are used in the song. We could see that the scenes in our mind through the songs and it reminds us of how Pavendhar made it possible with his Alagin Siruppu.
Pushpavanam Kuppusamy has sung a high pitched song ‘Oorula Unakkoru Medai’ and it shows the way the movie travels. The infamous musical instrument Thappu has been used for background score of this song and it sounds very nice.
‘Thelaaga Kottudhumma’ song is a duet with fast beats. The poet has once again proved his poetic skills through several lines and one of them is ‘Kattralai kattukkul indha karuvandu then thedudho’.
Raagav has debuted as music director and singer in this movie. He has not stopped just at that. He has also written a rap type song and he has proved that he is a lyric writer too.
A poem called ‘Yaavarum’ from Magudeshwaran’s poetic collections was made as a song for the movie. Magudeshwaran has written lyrics beautifully and he makes us forget that he has actually written the song for the music. Raagav took this poem of Magudeshwaran and rendered it as a song equally impressively. Traditional literary songs have musical elements to them and it is easy to make them as songs. However, modern poems don’t follow the rules and one of the modern poems from the collection has been made as a song, which is an appreciable effort. |
