Charu Niveditha’s recent novel ‘Exile’ was launched yesterday evening at Kamarajar Hall in Chennai. Vaali was invited as a special guest and he wished the best for Charu Nivedita.
“I was completely unaware of Charu Nivedita’s writing style six months ago. After reading his works, I wrote about him in my column in a magazine. On the next day, he came up to meet me. I read his recent novel in a single breath and I crossed hundred pages without realizing. He has covered various topics like launching of Ramayanam in Sri Rangam to Siddhas.
He is fond of writing about lust. There is nothing wrong in it. There is no human being in this planet that is beyond love and lust. Love is just infatuation. We can compare lust to nose and love is just an ornament decorating the tip of the nose. I faced a lot of opposition when I started sharing my experience through a magazine. However, I found out that there is no need to hide truth. It shouldn’t hurt anybody. That is all.
You may ask what a poet knows about stories. I entered the literature field as a writer in the beginning. My first story was titled as ‘Brandhi’. It was published in Kalai Magal magazine. At the age of 17, I run a handwritten magazine in Sri Rangam. Kalki read my work and appreciated me. He is the one who introduced me to City.”
Writers like Indhira Parthasarathy and Madhan made their speeches wishing the best for the writer. While Vaali appreciated Charu Nivedita, he didn’t forget to mention an important point. Concluding his speech, Madhan said, “Charu Nivedita must reach heights and beyond and he should stop playing harmonium”.
