The upcoming 3D Antarctic expedition film ‘At the Mountains of Madness’ made by James Cameron and Universal Studio is having a serious completion for the male lead cast.

Now there is a confusion of casting the male lead. Universal studio is keen on casting James McAvoy, while director Guillermo Del Toro sides Tom Cruise.

McAvoy stands a better chance as the producers feel that he will be more apt for the act. Many Tom just need to swallow things up a bit and carry on.

The film is an adaptation H.P. Lovecraft's novel of the same title. The story is about an expedition that unveils unidentifiable life forms in the mountain range that are taller than the Himalayas. The film will start rolling in May 2011.
